In December 2021, the Chetna SHG Mahila Swalambi Sahkari Samiti Ltd. was honored as the best women’s cooperative in Jharkhand by the National Cooperative Development Corporation's regional office. The Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Cooperatives, Shri Badal Patralekh, awarded a cheque of Rs.25,000 to the cooperative's office bearers – Mala, Purnima, and Sumitra.
Jan Chetna Manch, Bokaro received the EdelGive Social Innovation Honour for the category ‘Health and Well- Being’ in 2011, “For the outstanding work done to empower and improve the lives of the weakest and poorest in the villages of Bokaro district, with a particular aim of improving the overall health and well being of poor rural women.”
JCMB’s Director, Lindsay Barnes, was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists in 2014. “The Fellowship Honoris Causa is awarded to people who are not members of the College but who have demonstrated the highest level of dedication and achievement in clinical care or the highest level of support to the development of women’s healthcare services.”
JCMB won the Express Public Health Award for the ‘Most Effective Healthcare NGO’ in 2018 “for providing quality care during pregnancy and childbirth for poor women, by training local women to provide healthcare in areas which have intermittent access to qualified medical professionals.”
One of JCMB’s oldest and experienced health care workers, Kajol Devi was recognised along with two more community based birth attendants by the organisation CommonHealth on the occasion of World Midwifery Day in 2010.
