The ‘Chetna Mahila Swasthya Kendra’ (Chetna Women’s Health Centre) is one of Jan Chetna Manch Bokaro’s main activity, and is its flagship programme. It is located in the village of Koromtanr – 25 kms away from Bokaro Steel City, in the state of Jharkhand.
1997: Humble Beginnings
Started in rented rooms above roadside shops.
Demand for a dedicated center led to a government-built facility in Chamrabad in 2001.
2015: Expansion
Purchased land in Koromtanr for a new center.
Funded by JCMB and donations from friends and well-wishers..
Innovative Construction:
2018-2021: Transition
Building used for residential training and meetings by 2018.
Planned move in March 2020 delayed due to COVID-19.
Final move completed in March 2021.
