Our Swasthya Sakhis, selected by women’s self-help groups, are local women dedicated to serving their communities. They collaborate with CHWs to visit households, especially those with pregnant women, new mothers, or individuals with mental health issues. Together, they bridge the gap between families, the community, and the healthcare system, including our Women’s Health Centre.

Despite providing highly subsidized care, poor families struggle to pay for specialised medical care.

To support a preterm baby in our baby room for 15 days, it costs ₹18,000/-

or a mother experiencing complications during childbirth, ₹10,000/- will ensure poor families do not sell their assets.

Jan Chetna Manch, Bokaro believes that combating malnutrition is not just about addressing poverty and awareness but is deeply linked to women’s empowerment. Women, often eating last and least, struggle to feed both themselves and their children adequately.

Access to DRINKING WATER

Access to safe drinking water continues to be a problem for villagers. Many of the tube wells that have been installed by the local government have become defunct. JCMB has helped install 8 tube wells in 8 villages since 2021, providing safe drinking water to over 300 families, benefitting over two thousand people. None of these tube wells have become defunct since their installation. As a part of the agreement between JCMB and the villagers, the care and repair of these tube wells will be the responsibility of the families that utilize them.
